There are so many things that inspire me on a daily basis, it would be hard to choose just one thing. Beautiful art, graceful hands, music, a blazing sunset, my eldest son's sense of humor, my little one's soulful eyes, a quiet place - it all depends on the mood I'm in. However words, and how they are put together inspire me the most.
I'm always amazed how someone can string words together and change your mood and sometimes your life. I'm even more amazed when someone can do that with very few words. Langston Hughes' poem Impasse is short succinct and extremely powerful, The Smith's song, Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want is under two minutes but, it will haunt you forever.I follow a writer on twitter, dream hampton, and one day she tweeted something, very short, very simple but it stopped me in my tracks and took my breath away:
You deserve to be deeply desired.
That short tweet was, uncomplicated sensuous simplicity. Experts write books of a thousand pages on relationships but she said it all in six words. That's.......inspiring.
