The number of bricks in the driveway of my parent’s house. Also the total number of bricks my dad has lain by hand. You may see a mess, but I see much more.

My parents have lived in the same house since they were married more than 30 years ago. I see family.

My dad laid each of those bricks and over the years he has had to work on his driveway masterpiece from time to time. I see dedication.

The most recent charge got me thinking of the positive side (while my mom simply prayed it would be done before the snow falls). I see patience.

My reflections took me to my dad and what he has overcome. I see strength.

You may see a mess. All I see is the man I’ve looked up to my whole life finishing his latest project. That’s just inspiring enough for me.
