Passive Aggressiveness and Advertising via WiFi

Ian's tweet above sparked a nice discussion. Interesting how something like a WiFi connection is now being used in passive agressive ways to speak out against neighbors due to proximity, and is really in a way replacing the typical apartment building message board or notes on doors.

A quick search:

And then there's Holland-based CoffeeCompany which used their WiFi to advertise:

Other WiFi names they have used include: BuyCoffeeForCuteGirlOverThere?, HaveYouTriedCoffeeCake?, TodaysSpecialExpresso1.60Euro, BuyaLargeLatteGetBrownieForFree

A WiFi name is just that, a name, but when we're talking proximity and geolocation, things can get pretty clever. People know others will see this when they log onto their Internet; often multiple times a day. Smart. What's another medium that compares on that level? I love the utilization of something that many others overlook.
